Four Arrested For Robbery, Stealing In Ughelli North

FOUR individuals have been apprehended and handed over to the Nigeria Police at Ughelli A Division for alleged robbery and stealing in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to sources, two of the suspects, Marvis Oghenewaro and Edafe Ogag were apprehended at Mission Road in Ughelli after they robbed two female victims of their phones and other items recently.

The suspects attempted to rob another man, but he resisted, and they fired a shot into the air. The victim raised an alarm, attracting a group of youths who chased and apprehended the suspects.

“They were given a hot chase, and in the process, two were arrested while others escaped. The two suspects were taken to the Ughelli police station after being beaten by the angry mob,” the source said.

In a separate incident, local vigilantes at Edjekota-Ogor community arrested two other suspects who had stolen a motorcycle. The suspects were pursued by the vigilantes, leading to their capture, and two locally made guns were allegedly recovered from them.

A senior security source confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspects. “The robbery happened at Edjekota road. The boys were blocked by someone tailing them from where they stole the bike, and they ran into the bush. The Edjekota vigilantes pursued and caught one of the boys.”

The suspects were taken to Ewu in Ughelli South to recover the gun, and the other suspect was arrested and later handed over to police officers from A Division Ughelli.
