SENIOR Policy Advisor to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, has urged media practitioners to uphold professionalism and avoid sycophancy in the discharge of their duties.
He made this call during the second day of the 5th Edition of Delta State Communication Workshop, yesterday at Hotel Benizia, Asaba.
In his remarks, Funkekeme highlighted the significance of the seminar, describing it as a platform to equip journalists with tools necessary to effectively report on the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Government. He emphasized that for media practitioners to fulfill their roles effectively, they must fully understand the state’s policies and programmes and positively project its image.
Funkekeme commended the Director-General of Delta State Orientation and Communication Bureau Dr. Fred Oghenesivbe for ensuring the success of the initiatives, which contribute to the state’s development. He urged participants to remain committed to honing their skills to enhance their professional growth.
Similarly, a former CPS to the governor, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, encouraged media practitioners to leverage the workshop to enhance their journalistic abilities.
He lauded the government’s efforts in providing platforms for professional development, particularly in reporting the state government’s activities.
The facilitator and Director-General of Delta State Orientation and Communication Bureau, Dr. Fred Oghenesivbe, commended the guest speakers for their valuable contributions to the success of the workshop. He emphasized the importance of such engagements in advancing the competence of media practitioners.
