GORU Inspects Multiple Projects Across DESOPADEC Mandate Areas

The Member representing Udu, Uvwie, Ughelli South and Urhobos in Warri on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon. Oghenekaro Goru has continued with inspection of projects in his mandate area.
The projects inspected by the Hon. Goru-led team included; the newly renovated six-classroom block at Okolor-Waterside Primary School in Udu Local Government Area, as well as the renovation of a four-classroom block at Majovo Primary School in Ekakpamre town, Ughelli South Local Government Area.

Additional projects included the construction of Karo Street Road with drainage in Usiefurun Road, Orhuwhorun town, Udu Local Government Area, the construction of a 200-meter drainage system at Ofoni Drive, Ugbomoro, and the supply and installation of a 500KVA transformer at the Videsco substation in Orhuwhorun, Udu Local Government Area.
Hon Goru, who spoke to journalists, said that these projects align with the MORE AGENDA mandate of the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sherriff Oborevwori, which aim is to foster significant development for the people of the state.

Goru commended the contractors for their dedication in executing the projects, as well as the communities for their peaceful disposition and support, assuring that the Board of the DESOPADEC, led by the Chairman, Chief John Nani and the Managing Director, Chief Festus Ochonogor, will do more for the oil bearing communities.

In the same vein, Chief Victor Egbo, representing the Isoko ethnic group on the DESOPADEC Board, also conducted inspections of projects within his mandate area yesterday.

His first port of call was the ongoing construction of Urusewe/Iyama road, the installation of a 300kva transformer at Odoro road, which is to service Otio, Uzeva and Emeta streets respectively and the ongoing Ithirikpe street (150m) construction work at Idheze road all in Isoko South Local Government Area.
Chief Egbo commended the quality of work completed thus far and encouraged the contractor to maintain their high standards. However, he expressed dissatisfaction with the contractor’s performance at St. Michael’s College. He instructed the contractor to return to the site immediately to address the deficiencies.
