…As Friend Escapes Gunshots
Gunmen have reportedly abducted a Point Of Sale (POS) Agent simply identified as Biggy from his residence in Delta State.
The incident occurred at 3 pm over the weekend at Egbo Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
The victim’s friend escaped from the scene when he saw the daredevil gunmen, who opened fire on him.
The bullet reportedly pierced through the wall of the building as he made his escape. At the time of filing this report, nothing has been heard from the victim and the abductors. The incident has caused tension among residents, indigenes and business owners in the area.
A Niger Delta human rights activist, Israel Joe has now condemned the rising pace of insecurity, saying, “It is time we raise alarm about the steady and incessant rate of kidnapping. Security agencies must rise to the occasion to nip this ugly trending social ill. How would kidnapping be an everyday thing now?”
However, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe claimed the incident was not reported.
