SPEAKER of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, Weekend, joined other well-meaning Deltans to mourn the death of a former Deputy Governor in the state, Prof Amos Agbe Utuama.
Rt. Hon. Guwor said the death of Prof Utuama left a void in his heart and many others, particularly the State wing of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) and, indeed, Deltans.
The Speaker, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr Nkem Nwaeke, condoled with the member representing Ughelli South in the State Legislature, Hon Festus Utuama, the immediate family of late Prof Utuama, the Ughievwen kingdom and the government and people of Ughelli South local government for the loss of the former Deputy Governor who died at the age of 78.
Guwor pointed out that as a former deputy governor, Prof Utuama demonstrated unwavering commitment to State’s progress, stressing that his legacy, marked by dedication and wisdom, will forever inspire many people, particularly in the legal and political arenas.
The Speaker recalled the tireless efforts of the late Professor of Law in promoting socio-economic development in Delta State between 2007 and 2015, when he served as deputy governor to Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan.
While stressing that Prof Utuama’s impact on Delta state’s history is undeniable, Rt. Hon. Guwor extend his deepest sympathies to the family and charged them to find strength in the memories of the remarkable life and service by their father.
The Speaker, on behalf of the constituents of Warri South West and the Delta State House of Assembly, prayed to God to grant the soul of the late former deputy governor perfect rest.
