An 11-year-old female Secondary School student in Warri, Delta State, has been found dead after she was raped and stabbed by unidentified hoodlums in an uncompleted building in Okumagba Layout, Warri South Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the deceased was returning from school, after an annual inter-house sports competition, when the tragic incident occurred along Olamat Street, Ejemudarho.
Sources claimed that the miscreants accosted and took her to an uncompleted building where she was sexually assaulted and eventually killed.
She was said to have left the sports field before the end of the competition, making her school mates conclude she had returned home. However, her parents reportedly began searching for her when she failed to return home.
Eyewitnesses claimed visible signs of rape and stabs on her body.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, yesterday, saying investigation is ongoing.
