The Isoko National Youth Congress (INYC) Worldwide, has called for peaceful engagement, constructive dialogue and sustainable solutions to the myriad of challenges bedeviling the nation.
Comrade Abel Edigbe, President of the Isoko National Youth Congress (INYC), in a statement on the upcoming nationwide protests tagged #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria, scheduled for August 1-10, he recognized the severe hunger and economic hardship faced by Nigerians and urged stakeholders to engage in peaceful dialogue to address the crisis and find lasting solutions.
In a concise statement, “A Call for Peaceful Engagement, Constructive Dialogue, and Sustainable Solutions”, Comrade Abel Edigbe urged President Bola Tinubu to heed the cries of Nigerians and engage in meaningful dialogue to address the nation’s pressing challenges.
“Under my leadership as President of the Isoko National Youth Congress Worldwide (INYC), we have deliberately chosen to pursue peaceful engagement and constructive dialogue, rather than participating in the planned #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria protest from August 1-10, in order to foster a more inclusive and solutions-focused approach.
“We recognize the genuine concerns and grievances of Nigerians regarding hardships, hunger, and their right to peaceful assembly. While acknowledging these concerns, we stress the importance of maintaining public order and respecting the rights of all citizens. Our approach prioritizes finding practical solutions through collaborative efforts, working together to address the pressing challenges facing our nation.
“We applaud the outstanding accomplishments of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F.O Oborevwori’s administration, which has made significant strides in education, infrastructure, healthcare, empowerment, and other vital sectors, aligning with his visionary M.O.R.E agenda. Our dedication to supporting his administration remains steadfast and unwavering, as we recognize the positive impact of his leadership on the citizens of Delta State.
“We urge the Federal Government of Nigeria, led by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to develop and implement comprehensive programs tailored to address and mitigate the poverty index affecting Nigerians, thereby improving their overall well-being and quality of life.
The alarming rates of hunger, insecurity, and inflation in Nigeria demand urgent action.
“We call on the Federal government to revisit the fuel subsidy removal and explore alternative solutions to mitigate its impact on the masses. We appeal to all stakeholders to prioritize peaceful resolution and sustainable solutions, and encourage Isoko youths to engage in constructive dialogue instead of protesting, seeking alternative solutions to address their demands.
“In these challenging times, we must prioritize peace and stability, avoiding the destructive path of the past. We call on security personnel to maintain law and order, protect citizens’ rights, and ensure a peaceful environment.
“Let us unite in embracing the path of peace, dialogue, and constructive engagement, paving the way for a brighter future for ourselves and future generations.”
