I Will Not Relent On My Three-Point Agenda In Ughelli North –Jaro Egbo

THE Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Olorogun Jaro Egbo has said that he will not relent nor deviate from his 3-Point agenda, he promised the people during his campaign period.

He made this known while briefing members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Ughelli Correspondents chapel at his office.

According to him, “Today marks a significant milestone as I address you on my achievements during the first 100 days of my tenure as Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area.

“It has been a period of dedication, collaboration, and commitment to our shared vision as we focused on three Cardinal Points: EDUCATION, ENVIRONMENT and SECURITY.

In promoting accountability and transparency, we have established regular communication channels to ensure that all members are informed and engaged.

“Upon assumption of duties, having considered the importance of health care, myself and my team embarked on the tour of Health Centres in the local government for on the Spot Assessment where we discovered the bad state of some of the Health Centres, which made my administration to take a bold step and embarked on the construction of an Ultra-Modern Cottage Maternity Health Centre which will be furnished with the State of the Art Facilities at the Local Government Headquarters here, he added.

On education, Egbo disclosed that primary school education is essential for the future of our youths and upon that, we proposed funding for better facilities, training for our teachers in collaboration with SUBEB and a conducive learning environment for our pupils.

“Within the space of my 100 days of office, we have been able to save well over N25,000, 000.00 (Twenty-Five Million Naira) from our IGR (i.e. through our Local Government Identification Certificate, Birth Registration Certificate and Marriage Registration.

“This money are already channelled to the purchase of school uniforms, Notebooks, and writing desks for our pupils in the local government area.”

Speaking further, Hon Egbo said, “ Immediately I resumed duty, I summoned a zonal security meeting which was inclusive of my sister Councils, Ughelli South and Udu Local Governments so as to find a way to curb the monster of insecurity in the councils.

And we have been enjoying relative peace, not until this ugly incident that happened few days ago, where the newly posted Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Agbarbo Division, was murdered by the men of the underworld.

On the state of the Local Government Council, he said, “I want to say without mincing words that I met the offices in a very bad state, and I have to take immediate action for the renovation of the Chairman’s office, the Vice Chairman’s office and the Leader of the Legislative Arm so as to have a conducive environment for us to do our job creditably.
