The President General of Issele-Azagba Development Union (IADU), and a former Permanent Secretary in the Delta State Civil Service, Chief Patrick Isichei has said that the Union is not interested in cases relating to kingship tussles.
Isichei, who said this in a chat with our correspondent in Issele-Azagba, Aniocha North Local Government Area, said that the community remains one indivisible entity, adding that the union would continue to promote the peace and progress of the town.
He said that the trouble in the town left the union with a task of how best to pilot the affairs of the community, adding that in the absence of a traditional head, the union would strive to return peace to the town.
Isichei further said that the union focused on the development of the youths as the bedrock of any society, and would remain neutral on the kingship tussle while assuring the youths of peace.
He said that recently, the union ensured that residents in Issele-Azagba got the palliatives sent by the state government through the local government council for the vulnerable, widows, Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) and the less-privileged residents of the town.
Isichei said the community cannot strive in disarray and has ensured that any sub-organization in the town operates within the ambit of the Issele-Azagba Development Union (IADU) and cannot exist in isolation.
He assured the people that they would restructure the security outfit in the town, organize training for the youths and fortify the Vigilantes, while they embarked on a sensitization programme to sensitize the public that security is everybody’s business.
