MEMBERS of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ward 6, Ika South Local Government Area, have elected a new executive that will pilot the affairs of the Ward.
The election was held at Agbor-Nta during the PDP Ward Congresses held across the state recently.
Those elected as executive members of the Ward are Ebewebiru John, Chairman; Nwaokoro Philip, Vice-Chairman; Onyesom Patience; Woman Leader; Uwazukwe Festus, Secretary; Osabor Kenneth, Youth Leader; and Abanimoro Anthony, Assistant Secretary; Ekwu Desmond, Organizing Secretary and Ojeifoh Patrick, Financial Secretary.
Others are Clifford Obuh, Publicity Secretary; Egede John, Auditor; Monday Bose, Legal Adviser; Francisca Jacob, Treasurer; Chibuogwu Chinedu, Ex-Officio; Eghoarokwu Chukwuma, Ex-Officio; Ebigwu Sunday, Ex-Officio; Egwabor Eric, Ex-Officio and Ebaigbe Evelyn, Ex-Officio.
In his appreciation after the congress, the Chairman-elect, Mr John Ebewebiru expressed joy on the success of the election. He assured that he would operate an open-door policy where the interest of every member of the Ward would be represented.
He expressed gratitude to the leaders and entire people of the Ward for finding him and members of his executive worthy to serve. While calling for support, he promised that his executive would live up to the expectations of all members of the party in the Ika South Local Government Area.
The outgoing Chairman of the Ward, Mr Friday Giweze, in his brief speech after the election, congratulated members of the new executive and advised them to uphold the goal of the party which is building a better and bigger, PDP.
He called on members of the Ward to give the new executive 100 per cent support to enable them to succeed.
Other leaders of the Ward, Godwin Ezedom, Michael Abanimoro and Ezinne Cecilia Ogbonyeri, in their separate remarks, congratulated members of the newly elected executive.
They charged them to be committed to members’ interests and also give total loyalty to the leadership of the party as they discharge their duties after inauguration.
