INDEPENDENCE DAY: DON’T DESPAIR, Warri North LG Chairman’s Wife Urges

THE wife of the Executive Chairman of WARRI North Local Government Council, Mrs Omasan Ashima, yesterday, asked the children and people of the council area to keep hope alive rather than resort to despair over the present state of affairs in the country, assuring that a better and greater Warri North, Delta State and Nigeria were in the horizon, noting that tough times do not always last but tough people do.

She gave the assurance at the Secretariat Complex Of Warri North Local Government Council in Koko, headquarters of the Local Government when she hosted primary school pupils to mark this year’s Independence Day anniversary.

Speaking further, Mrs. Ashima urged the people of the area to look to the future with high hope, inspite of their obvious challenges, stating that when they worked harder, pray more for the good and advancement of the country, things could turn around as prayers have great power to change difficult situations.

She said, Delta State is already getting it right with the right leadership now in place, “This is why our dear Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori and his lovely wife are doing their best since coming on to ensure that a greater Delta State was achievable as the M.O.R.E AGENDA of the present administration is already impacting lives across the state, thus reassuring  us all that, indeed, when the right leader is on the throne, Nigeria can truly make tremendous progress.

While assuring the people that next year would be better, she said, they would have seen many more reasons to believe in Nigeria which she described as a blessed country even as she added that her husband, who is the WARRI NORTH chairman was doing his little bit as well, in the area of infrastructural and human capital development to make life more meaningful for the people of the area which was one reason they needed to be hopeful and happy because the future was brighter.

The children’s independence day party, which was attended by mostly primary school pupils and wives of politicians in the area featured banny, giant baboon and other fantastic recreation facilities for kiddies to enjoy themselves also included quiz competition for the children in the end for which beautiful Prizes were won by victorious pupils.
