The lead Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, pro-Biafra agitator, Aloy Ejimakor, yesterday, alleged a plot to demonize the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Igbo.
Ejimakor made the remark while faulting those blaming IPOB for the insecurity in the Southeast.
Posting on X, the lead Counsel said both state and non-state actors are behind the insecurity in the Southeast.
He wrote: “In line with the plot to demonize the #IPOB in particular and #Ndigbo in general, every incidence of insecurity in Southeast is always blamed on IPOB.
“This is silly because sensible persons know too well that both State & non-state actors of non-Southeast origin are complicit.”
The insecurity in the Southeast worsened with Kanu’s continued detention. Kanu has been detained by the Department of State Services, DSS, since his rearrest in June 2021 in Kenya and subjected to extraordinary rendition back to Nigeria.
Despite a court order granting him bail, the Nigerian government had refused to release Kanu.
