THE Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Warri Ovoke has promised to utilize local government funds towards the development of the area, just as he assured of accountability by his administration.
Warri made the statement at Isoko South Council Secretariat, Oleh, during a reception ceremony organized by council staff.
He thanked God for the opportunity to lead the people of Isoko South and urged them to expect tangible democratic dividends during his tenure, promising to domesticate the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. He called on the people to support him in the task of developing the area.
He thanked the staff, Heads of Departments (HODs) of the council and guests for the warm reception, and assured of equitable development of Isoko South Local Government Area.
Ovoke, emphasizing on punctuality, urged staff to ensure they are in their respective offices by 8am from Monday next week, enjoiningthem to be available for morning prayers every day from 8am to 8.30am.
The highpoint of the event was the handover note presented to Hon. Warri Ovoke by Head of Personnel Management (HPM), Chief (Mrs.) Mary Iroro Ogbokor.
Ogbokor prayed for God’s protection and wisdom as Ovoke takes over as chairman.
The Isoko South LGA NULGE Chairman, Comrade. Erube Oghogho at the occasion, commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the level-playing ground that has produced persons with capacity to make lives better for the people, while promising that the staff will give maximum support to the council boss.
On his part, OlehWard 6 councilor, Mr. Olokor Friday, on behalf of his colleagues, promised to work with the chairman to move Isoko South forward, while commending the people of the area for voting PDP in both the chairmanship and councilorship position during last Saturday’s local government election.
