THE Delta State Governor, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has been commended for delivering quality projects within one year in office, especially in Warri, Uvwie and their environs.
The Director-General of the Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency (WUEDA), Prince Godwin Ejinyere, gave the commendation on June 12, 2024, while speaking in Effurun on the achievements of Governor Oborevwori to mark this year’s Democracy Day. Prince Ejinyere said Governor Oborevwori was committed to completing all the projects he inherited from his predecessor, as well as the ones awarded by his administration for the benefit of all Deltans.
On the achievements of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori through WUEDA, Hon. Ejinyere listed a plethora of projects including the gigantic flood control projects in Warri and Effurun Phases 1 and 2; construction of Ogbe Avenue road, off PTI Road; Noble street, off Commissioner Road; and General Stanley Atumu road, off Ugbolokposo Modern Market, Alegbon street, all in Effurun.
Others are the construction of Commissioner Road project, off DSC Roundabout; Blessed/Edenya Street, Masoje, off PTI Road, Effurun; access road to the Federal Housing Estate, Ugboroke; Matthew Ikperikpe Close, Ekpan; Ebeya/Kamit/Lolori road, off Aka Avenue, Effurun; the rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of the road from Ogunu bridge to Shell Ogunu, Warri; construction of Ogunu Agogo community main road, and internal roads in Ogunu community; as well as the reconstruction and resurfacing of Ugbolokposo/Ogbomro road to DSC expressway.
According to Prince Ejinyere, the Delta State Government through WUEDA, constructed Mbamalu Street by Praise Center, off Jakpa road, Effurun; Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon Close, off NNPC Housing Complex road, Ekpan; Temi Harriman Street, GRA, Warri; as well as rehabilitated the First and 3rd Marine Gate roads, off Warri/Sapele road, Warri; and constructed the Osaigbovo street, off 3rd Marine Gate road, Warri.
Still under the purview of WUEDA, the State Government also constructed Ugbekoro/Newe Road; Atuwatse road; Moses Ejeh Street; Austin Akomo Street; and St. Theresa’s Catholic Church Road, all in Ubeji; as well as rehabilitated and laid asphalt over Apala street in Okumagba Layout, Warri.
