THE Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku has admonished women in the state to keep faith faith alive in sustainable democracy.

Agbebaku, represented by the majority leader, Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian gave the admonishnent yesterday while addresing the large number of PDP women who stormed the entrance of the Assembly complex with a peaceful demonstration over the alleged stolen mandate of the PDP candidate in the recently conducted governorship poll, Dr. Asuenimhen Ighodalo in favour of his APC counterpart, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian thanked the women for their peaceful conduct which he said showed they were mothers indeed who believed in the future of their children and the legacies of Governor Godwin Obaseki- led administration.

He further stated that the Assembly is known for its pursuit of equal treatment and justice among Edo people, assuring that Government has enough institutions to redress any form of injustice that ensues.

He also promised to convey their message to the appropriate authority, adding that nobody would rest until the needful is done

Earlier, one of the leaders of the group and former chairman, Esan West Local Government Council, Mrs Stella Okoro said they were not happy by the activities of the institutions in connection with the conduct of free and fair elections for their display of bias as some of their children and party members were unlawfully arrested and taken to Abuja and other places in Benin.

She also decried the falsification of election results against Asue Ighodalo whom she claimed actually won the election while clamouring for the return of the stolen mandate.
