A chieftain of Labour Party in Delta state, Dr Augustine Ojogbo has canvased the need for Nigerians to continue to be resilient, patient and prayerful to God for emergence of good leaders come 2027.
Dr Ojogbo stated this at Asaba while fielding questions with journalists. He said lack of good leaders was responsible for the socio economic challenges facing the country today.
According to him the nation is blessed with abundant resources necessary to put the country on the path of world power.
Dr Ojogbo who was the Aniocha North Local Government chairmanship candidate of Labour Party pointed out that what the country needed now are good leaders that would harness our resources for accelerated development.
He encouraged Nigerians to continue to be patient and pray that God in His Infinite Mercy would sustain us, good followers that we are and give us good leaders in 2027 irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political party affiliations.
He said democracy is anchored on the rule of law and condemned the frequent disregard to the constitution of the country by our leaders while making reference to the unconstitutional and undemocratic process of President Ahmed Bola Tunubu by the suspension of democratically elected officials of Rivers State supported by some Legislators who could not question why Mr President in the first instance swore in the Sole Administrator before consideration and approval of the State of Emergency.
He stated that President is backed by the constitution to declare a state of emergency based on information at his disposal in accordance with the Constitution. Ojogbo appeal to Mr President that as a matter of honour and not weakness respond favourably to majority of well meaning Nigerians to reverse the suspension of elected officials of Rivers State as he lacked the jurisdiction to suspend them no matter the perceived good intentions.
