THE Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emma Chinye has transformed Issele-Azagba into a bustling construction site, fulfilling his promise to improve the earthen roads in the local government area.
The ongoing road grading project aims to enhance accessibility and bolster security, enabling residents and law enforcement to effectively patrol the area.
In an interview with The Pointer, Hon. Williams Ugbo, who oversees the project, praised Chinye’s commitment to revitalising Aniocha North. He highlighted the significant progress made in the last two days, with three functional government diggers efficiently addressing the road infrastructure challenges in the community.
Hon. Tobechukwu Ukwamedua expressed hope that the current administration would deliver much-needed benefits to Issele- Azagba, a community that has long felt neglected.
He noted that the original plan allowed each payloader to work in the community for two days, but local leaders requested an extension to ensure thorough coverage.
Meanwhile, a Councilor, Hon. Peter Nwasha commended Chinye’s effective leadership, calling him a “doer” who has delivered on his campaign promises.
Nwasha emphasised the positive impact of Chinye’s initiatives across the council area, noting that the residents of Issele- Azagba were beginning to experience the benefits of effective governance.
In addition to the roadworks, Nwasha urged Hon. Chinye to establish a police station in Issele-Azagba to enhance security. He argued that the current vigilante system is insufficient to manage the increasing population and associated crime risks.
