LG Chairmen, Councillors Should Honour Their Promise—Ute-Ogbeje PG

The President General of Ute-Ogbeje Kingdom, Mr Sylvester Okwuadi has advised the newly-elected Local Government Council chairmen and councillors to live up to their campaign promises.

Mr Okwuadi advised Ute-Ogbeje, Ika North East Local Government Area while fielding questions from journalists during the Local Government Council election.

According to him, the elected officers should ensure to judiciously use their administrative powers and leadership positions for the betterment of their constituents.

He said the powers entrusted to them as the people’s representative in governance should be for the development of their various areas of administrative jurisdiction.

He expressed confidence in the replication of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) legacies at the local government council by the elected Councillors and local government council chairmen.

He expressed optimism that the good governance of the PDP in the state would continue to give the party a landslide victory in subsequent elections, noting that the only recognized political party in the Ute-Ogbeje Kingdom from 1999 to date is the PDP.

Speaking further, the President General, while appreciating the state government for embarking on roads and other developmental projects in the area, reiterated that the Ute-Ogbeje Kingdom was recognized for its existing peace and stability.

While congratulating the newly-elected members of the council, Mr Okwuadi also used the medium to thank the PDP for its support in the area, urging the people to continue to maintain the existing peace that the people of Ute Ogbeje is known for.
