THE People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State is optimistic to make a clean sweep of the next Saturday Local Government Council elections in the area.

Speaking during an enlarged stakeholders meeting of the party, hosted by its chairmanship candidate, Olorogun Jaro Egbo at his country home in Uduere, Ughelli North, Caretaker Chairman of the party, Pastor Kesiena Nomuoja said the party has done all that is required for any party to win any election in the council.
According to Nomuoja who addressed party stakeholders, commended them for their financial contributions as well as their moral support and mobilisation of members during the party’s ward to ward campaign and local government rally.

In his remarks, Chairmanship candidate of the party, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, thanked members of the party for their massive support towards his campaign.
He described the forthcoming election as a done deal, saying the PDP is the only party that has campaigned round all the wards in the local government council.
He said; “We are very optimistic of victory, not just in the chairmanship election but also in the twenty councilorship elections in the council. We are the only party on ground and have campaigned round all the wards. No other party has campaigned; all they are doing is campaign of blackmail which they have failed already. “So come Saturday, I want to urge the people of Ughelli North to come out enmasse and vote for all the candidates of the PDP as we are the only party on ground.”

Christabel Obiuwevbi called on the people of Ughelli North to vote PDP all the way, pointing that the present administration in the state, led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has done a lot for the people of Ughelli North in terms of infrastructure and appointments of her sons and daughters into key positions in his administration just within one year in office.
On his part, Senior Special Assistant, Political, to the Governor Olorogun Hon Kpuwhara Anthony held that Ughelli North has no rival candidate to oppose the PDP as the Saturday election will be litmus test to other parties.
“The people are very much eager to see a new Ughelli North as they are prepared to turn out massively to vote for the PDP.”
