LG Polls: Avweromre Promises To Revamp Health Centre, Restore Electricity

THE Peoples Democratic Party chairmanship candidate for Ughelli South Local Government Council in the July 13 local government election in Delta State, Hon. (Dr.) Lucky Avweromre, has pledged to revamp the health center, restore electricity and create employment opportunities for women and youths in Olomu and across the Council.

Avweromre made this commitment during the visit of the Ughelli South Local Government Area PDP campaign team to wards 1 and 2 of Olomu, to seek support for the party’s chairmanship and councillorship candidates.

Accompanied by his running mate, Hon. Happiness Umukoro, Avweromre emphasized his educational background, which includes a degree, a master’s, and a PhD in Political Science.

He also highlighted his experience as the former leader of the Ughelli South Local Government Council NADESSTU Honours Integrity Group Convener, Idawene ABRAKA FOR his dedication, commitment and consistency in promoting and propagating the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration, the Convener of Integrity Group of Delta State, Dr. OkeIdawene, has been bestowed with National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU), merit award.

The award was conferred on Dr. Idawene among other awardees by the National President of NADESSTU, Comrade Wiska Monday, during the Delta State Students Work-Life Preparatory Summit held at the campus main auditorium, Abraka, Ethiope East.

Wiska noted that the award as the most dedicated messenger of the MORE agenda was bestowed on Idawene for his relentless efforts towards propagating the MORE agenda. He said they decided to confer the highest award of the NADESSTU on Idawene in recognition of his outstanding support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori who he described as most student friendly governor in the country saying the governor is a blessing for students of higher education in the state.

In an address to the cheering crowds, Dr. Idawene said he was delighted to be so recognise in his efforts in promoting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration, maintaining that his best was yet to come as according to him, Governor Oborevwori deserved the support of all Deltans.

“This award will definitely spur me to continue to promote the MORE agenda and I am also using this medium to hail the governor’s abilities in managing people and Delta state politically, especially how he manages people and provides leaderships with tolerance. This should be an examples to others on what leadership should be.

“The award will serve as a propeller for me to do more in supporting all sectors of our state and country. Every award is a symbol that one is doing well, but in other words, it is a call to do more.

“We will continue to work together with associations and groups that have common goals of promoting the development of Delta State and the country at large.” he said. Legislative Arm, as well as his past roles as Deputy Chief of Staff and in other appointed positions. These experiences, he believes, have equipped him with the necessary qualifications and skills to lead effectively.

He emphasized that his administration aims to bring positive change to the residents of Ughelli South Local Government Area, ensuring that the interests of youths, women, elders, and all constituents are considered.

Avweromre promised to restore electricity to the area with the help of the state governor and Ughelli South leaders, renovate the health center to ensure quality healthcare for all, and create employment and appointment opportunities for the youths and women.

Earlier, some leaders of Olomu Wards One and Two, including Chief Raymond Temisere, PDP Chairman of Olomu Ward 1, Chief Samuel Ogbotomo, Princess Eguonor Ogbon, Chief Convey Omokeni, Hon. Friday Ijomoni, and others, spoke on behalf of the electorate. They expressed satisfaction with Avweromre’s candidacy for the July 13th, 2024 LGA election and drummed up support for him and his Vice Chairman- ship candidate, Hon. Happiness Umukoro.
