ONICHA-OLONA Community in Aniocha North Local Government Area was thrown into a carnival as the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DISEC) declared Hon.Chinye Bazim Emmanuel winner of the just concluded Local Government lection.
Recall that in the history of Aniocha North political progression, this is the first time a native of Onicha-Olona mounted the leadership of the Council through electoral process. It was a thing of joy as the natives alongside residents took to the street in jubilation of Emma Chinye’s victory.
Speaking to The Pointer at Abuano square in Onicha-Olona, shortly after the DISEC declaration, the immediate past Councilor of ward 5, Hon. Emeka Ezeiwu commended DISEC for providing a level playground of all adding that the process was free of violence and electoral malpractice.
He described Emma Chinye’s victory at the polls as a miracle that happened in the Local Government, adding that Chinye’s political experience will attract meaningful development in the Local Government. “He is a grassroots politician”, he added.
Meanwhile, others who spoke to journalists expressed satisfaction with the electoral process and plead that the new Executive Chairman fulfill his campaign promises of GAIN agenda and transform the Local Government headquarter, Issele-Uku to an urban city.
