The Police in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State have confirmed the arrest and detention of a man, Smart Daniel for allegedly stabbing a sex worker after a series of sexual romps with her.
The young man, believed to be in his early 20s, the Police authorities said, was arrested and detained following a distress call by some concerned residents in the area.
A senior police officer in the Agbor Division of the Nigerian Police, who confirmed the arrest and detention of the suspect, said that the division received a distress call about a young lady (sex worker) who was stabbed by a young man.
According to him, a team of police officers from the division was dispatched to the scene; a Brothel along the Benin/Asaba Expressway.
He further explained that upon their arrival, the young lady whose identity could not be given at the time of this report, was seen in the pool of her blood, while the suspect, according to him, was almost being lynched by an angry mob.
While the police took hold of the suspect, the victim, according to our source, was rushed to the Central Hospital, Agbor for medical attention where she was later referred to Federal Medical Center (FMC), Asaba.
The police assured that they would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that justice was served as a deterrent to would-be offenders.
Meanwhile, an eye witness told The Weekend Pointer that trouble started between the young man, whom they described as a regular customer at the Brothel; Apple Inn and the sex worker when the suspect, Smart Daniel refused to pay the agreed fee after their third round of sex.
His refusal to pay the agreed fee, according to the eye witness, was hinged on his claim that the sex worker denied him ejaculation during the third round of the sex romp.
While the sex worker insisted that he must pay the complete amount as agreed, stressing that he was hard on her, the suspect, Smart Daniel, the eye witness said, “Picked a knife, possibly from the sex worker’s kitchen, stabbed her and dragged the knife downward”.
The victim could not be reached for comments as she is said to be in critical condition.
