Ministry Trains Staff On Communication, Leadership Skills

TO enhance efficiency and service delivery to Deltans, the State Ministry of Higher Education has conducted an in-house training programme for its staff.

The training , organised in collaboration with Rosapaul Global Resources, was flagged off by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof Nyerhovwo Tonukari, at the ministry’s conference room in the Prof Chike Edozie Secretariat.

Participants were trained in eight key areas essential for success in both professional and personal life. These included: Effective Time Management and Prioritisation; Communication and Team Building; Problem-Solving and Decision-Making; Leadership and Mentoring; Adaptability and Change Management; Digital Skills for Enhanced Productivity; Goal Setting and Performance Management; and Stress Management and Well-being.

In his remarks, the Commissioner stated that the training was part of a series of programmes designed to equip ministry staff with the necessary skills to enhance productivity and performance.

Welcoming participants to the programme, he encouraged them to engage fully in every session to maximise the benefits and apply their learnings in the execution of their duties.

“I urge all participants to actively engage and listen attentively throughout the workshop, ensuring that the knowledge gained translates into improved service delivery in your respective roles,” he said.

The lead resource person, Mr Ayodele Paulson, expressed his gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, for his visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to delivering democratic dividends to the people of Delta State.

He also extended his sincere appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education and the Permanent Secretary for the opportunity to train the ministry’s staff.

He emphasised the importance of the training in equipping participants with the skills necessary to remain competitive and relevant in an increasingly fast-paced and ever-evolving professional landscape.

Among the attendees at the workshop were the Functioning Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Bridget Odobor, and the Director of Administration, Mr Godwin Ikenye.
