THE Ovie of Agbarha Warri Kingdom, HRM Kingsley Orereh has called for unity among his subjects during his speech at the annual end-of-year thanksgiving of the prestigious Agbarha Warri League, held at the College of Education, Warri, Delta State.
In his address, the monarch urged the people of Agbarha Warri to take the initiative in championing their causes, stressing, “Divided we fall, united we stand.” He encouraged parents to send their children to reputable higher institutions outside the state to foster important connections.
The traditional ruler also advised his subjects to be cautious about sharing sensitive information related to the kingdom’s growth and development.
During the launch of a 30-seater bus donated by the monarch to the Agbarha Warri League, he also contributed one million naira to the socio-cultural group. This initiative was further supported by the member representing Warri South Constituency II in the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Hon Benson Obire, along with generous contributions from several colleagues, patrons, and guests.
In his opening remarks, the President of the Agbarha Warri League, Mr. Joseph Ugbejevun, reflected on the journey of the association, acknowledging the dedication of its founding members. He commended the League’s progress since its establishment as a socio-cultural organisation and urged current and future members to embody a spirit of unity.
Ugbejevun expressed gratitude to those who have supported him personally and the organisation, emphasising that success hinges on collective effort and commitment to the League’s goals. He affirmed the importance of honouring the legacies of past leaders and fostering a thriving future for the Agbarha Warri Kingdom.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards of excellence to Mr. Joseph Ugbejevun and several other deserving members of the Agbarha Warri League for their contributions to the organisation’s success.
…Offers Cows, Bags Of Rice To Communities For Yuletide
IN the true spirit of Christmas giving, the Ovie of Agbarha Warri Kingdom, HRM Kingsley Orereh Atanerhu I has generously donated one live cow and twenty bags of rice to each of the Agbarha Warri communities in the Warri South Local Government Area.
The beneficiaries include Otovwodo (Agbassa), Ogunu, Igbudu, Edjeba, Okurode (Ekurede Urhobo), Ukpokiti (riverine), and Oteghele (riverine).
Indigenes from these communities expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Agbarha monarch. President of the Agbarha Warri League, Mr. Joseph Ugbejevun, described Igbi II as a “Godsend” for Agbarha Warri, stating that his emergence has fulfilled the community’s prayers for liberation and prosperity. “We have never had it so good,” he added.
During a media interaction, Ugbejevun took the opportunity to thank the traditional ruler for his previous donation of a 30-seater bus to the Agbarha Warri League, emphasising the positive impact of Igbi II’s contributions on the community. He also offered prayers for the monarch’s long and prosperous reign.
It is worth noting that HRM Kingsley Orereh Atanerhu I, Igbi II, made similar generous donations to the Agbarha Warri communities during last year’s Christmas celebration.
