Muoboghare, Others Face Police Invitation Today

  • Trouble Looms In Uwheru Community

THERE is palpable tension in Uwheru community with the invitation of the President-General of Uwheru Kingdom, Chief Macpherson Igbedi, the erstwhile Commissioner for Higher Education in Delta State, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare, and nine others by Delta State Police Command for questioning over the alleged crisis in Uwheru community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Pointer gathered that the invitation is in connection with the alleged internal crisis between the traditional ruler of Uwheru kingdom and influential indigenes.

A copy of the invitation obtained by The Pointer Newspaper, revealed that those invited are to appear at the Delta State Police Command, Okpanam road, Asaba by 11am today, Monday, September 30, 2024.

The Police invitation addressed to Mr. Obukohwo Ekpevwru of Uwheru community dated September 25, 2024 with Ref No CR: 3422/DTS/X-SQD/VOL3/172 was signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of X-Squad Unit, Lucky Adagbon.

The letter titled “Police Invitation letter, Re: case of acts of terrorism, illegal possession of firearms, gun running, criminal intimidation, dealing in illicit substance and conduct likely to cause breach of the peace”, read, “This office is investigating the above-mentioned case in which you and others were alleged to be involved.

“In the same vein, you are requested to come for an interface with the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Asaba, through the Office of the X-Squad Unit, Asaba, on Monday 30th September, 2024 at 1100hrs prompt.

“You are to come along with; Mr. Macpherson Igbedi ‘m’, Obukohwo Ojomi ‘m’, Uruemusin Arhagba ‘m’, Delta Ajamagran ‘m’, Orunor Igbedi ‘m’, Erhinodavwe Emerhivwe ‘m’, Onoriode Igbedi ‘m’, Mitain Arhagba ‘m’, Ahere a.k.a Good & Bad, Emmanuel Okashe ‘m’, Prof Patrick Emuoboghare ‘m’.”

Muoboghare, a renowned University don and Urhobo leader confirmed the development in a chat with our correspondent but declined to comment further on the issue until he returns from honouring the police invitation.
