A renowned Muslim scholar, Alhaji Suberu Mohammed Tajudeen has asserted that Muslims also believe in Jesus Christ.
In an exclusive interview with our correspondent at Nupe Line Igbudu Market Warri over the weekend, Alhaji Suberu Mohammed Tajudeen, a Muslim scholar and Etsu Nupe Warri (Wakili Nupe), based his assertion on the teachings of the Quran, saying, “Any Muslim who does not believe in Christ is not a Muslim.”
Tajudeen, who holds degrees in both Islamic and Christian religions, highlighted the peaceful nature of Islam.
He described the relationship between his people and their hosts, the Agbarha Warri people, as very cordial, and emphasized that Islam promotes peace. “Whatever we do, people should see us as peacemakers,” he said.
When asked to explain the concept of jihad, Tajudeen compared it to Christian evangelism, stressing that conversion must be peaceful. “If a Christian peacefully converts a Muslim to Christianity, they have won a jihad for Christianity. The same applies to Muslims”, he explained.
