NADESSTU Holds Workshop On Post-Academic Success

IN a bid to empower the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs in the state, the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU) has successfully convened a landmark Delta State Students Work-Life Preparatory Summit. The summit, held yesterday, drew hundreds of students, guests, and government officials, all converging at Delta State University, Abraka to discuss strategies for navigating life after graduation and fostering economic independence.

Speaking at the occasion, the state governor, Rt Hon Sherrif Oborevwori, who was represented by his Executive Assistant on Students Affairs, Dr Okoh Oghenetega, emphasised his commitment to empowering students for life post-graduation in line with the MORE Agenda.

“As students and young graduates, you are the future leaders of our great state, and it is our responsibility to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed. “This work-life summit, organized by NADESSTU, is a laudable effort that aligns with our administration’s commitment to empowering students through the MORE agenda. “We are dedicated to integrating this initiative into our ongoing efforts to support postgraduation success for students across all higher institutions in the state,” he said.

The summit under the theme, “Navigating The Real World: Building Pathways To Success After School”, featured interactive workshops and panel discussions led by resource persons, seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts.

Meanwhile, in recognition of academic excellence, the five best-graduating Delta students across multiple higher institutions in Nigeria were honoured with awards and cash prizes. To boost student entrepreneurship, eleven students with fledgling businesses were awarded business grants by the NADESSTU Center for Entrepreneurship In an interview with The Pointer, The President of NADESSTU, Comr Monday Wiska, expressed his appreciation to the Oborevwori administration for his commitment to empowering students of the state.

“Our mission for a NADESSTU Like Never Before in line with the MORE Agenda is to comprehensively prepare students for life beyond academia, equipping them with the essential digital skills to excel in business management, career development, and financial independence.

“The association is honoured to have the Governor as the grand patron of this event, which has afforded us the support to empower student entrepreneurs and award outstanding academic achievers. “ Moreover, the summit has equipped students with cutting-edge digital and entrepreneurial skills, poised to propel them towards success in their post-graduation pursuits,” he said.
