The Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Hon. Barr. John Obukohwo Nani has lauded the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for emerging as the Vanguard Newspapers Governor of the Year on Good Governance.
In a statement yesterday, Olorogun Nani described the award as a well-deserved recognition of Governor Oborevwori’s visionary leadership, people-centered policies, and unwavering commitment to inclusive development across Delta State.
He noted that the Governor’s MORE Agenda has not only set a new standard for governance in the state but has also reinforced public confidence in democratic leadership rooted in accountability, transparency, and service delivery
“Governor Oborevwori’s emergence as Vanguard’s Governor of the Year on Good Governance is a fitting tribute to his consistent efforts to build a Delta State that works for everyone,” Nani said.
“From infrastructure development to youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, healthcare access, and educational advancement, the Governor has shown remarkable passion and tenacity in driving impactful reforms.”
The DESOPADEC Chairman further stated that the Governor’s pragmatic approach to governance has brought massive joy to oil-producing communities, with DESOPADEC working in tandem with the state government to deliver grassroots-driven development.
“As Chairman of DESOPADEC, I can affirm that His Excellency has shown a remarkable passion for equity and justice in the allocation of resources, especially to oil-producing communities. His support for DESOPADEC has enhanced our ability to fulfil our core mandate to host communities.”
He added that Governor Oborevwori’s leadership style anchored on humility, dialogue, and performance has not only fostered peace and unity but has also inspired a culture of excellence among public office holders.
