THE Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has assured the people of Issele-Uku, headquarters of Aniocha North Local Government Area that the commission would soon embark on installation of 229 solar powered street light in the metropolis.
The Commission in a statement, made available to newsmen, stated that the Concrete beam where this street lights will be tensioned in the designated roads have been constructed waiting for street lights to be installed.
The Commission further disclosed that the street lights will go a long way to help curb the increasing rates of crime in Issele-Uku, especially during night time.
Meanwhile, a resident, John Aniamaka, on complimenting the efforts of the NDDC pleaded that more projects should also come to Issele-Uku through roads construction and a good drainage system which will help reduce the growing case of flooding triggered by heavy rainfall in some areas in the metropolis.
Aniamaka further said that IyiNta axis which is already at the verge of being swept away by flood and the area needs urgent attention from the fed government through intervention programs from the ecological funds.
