Newly-Elected Obodogba Youth Chairman Harps On Unity

THE newly-elected chairman of Obodogba youths, Comr. Chukwuma Abumujor has promised to work towards greater unity and bonding among the youths of the community.

Abumujor also stressed the need for collective efforts towards achieving a greater Obodogba community and Okpanam in general.

He gave the assurance in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area, while speaking with journalists after he was declared the winner of the Obodogba youths chairmanship election rerun.

Abumujor reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all Obodogba youths participated in the decision making process with a view to giving each and every one avenue to air their opinion and make meaningful contributions.

Comr. Abumujor decried incessant litigations in the community and told his people that they should always embrace reconciliation as they were brothers.

While saying that there would be regular meetings to create a formidable platform for collaboration among them. He stated that there would be more synergy between the youths and the elders of the community to fashion out ways to impact on the community. Comr. Abumujor appreciated youths of Obodogba community for finding him worthy to lead them as their chairman, adding that he would not take their support for granted.

He solicited the cooperation and support of all Obodogba indigenes and Okpanam at large to enable them succeed and reminded them that the time for election was over just as he said that his doors were open to all for useful ideas aimed at making Obodogba great again.

The chairman lauded the Ugoani of Okpanam, HRM Dr. Michael Mbanefo Ogbolu and the President-General of Okpanam Youth Organization, Comr. Lucky Okolo and the three-man electoral committee for their role in ensuring the conduct of a peace, free, fair and credible election.

Comr. Abumujor described Okpanam monarch as a man of integrity, peaceful, accessible and a man that always stood by his words and implored some individuals in the community to desist from unnecessary propaganda with the name of the traditional ruler on what he never said.

He prayed God to give him longevity of life, more wis­dom, understanding and knowledge to lead Okpanam to greatness.

Declaring the results of the chairmanship rerun, the chairman of the Electoral Committee, Ogbueshi Paul Dunkwu and the President-General of Okpanam Youth Or­ganization, Comr. Lucky Okolo said that Comr. Chukwuma Abumujor polled a total of 137 votes to beat Comr. Sunday Ijeh who was able to garner 121 votes.
