No Plans By Any PDP Lawmaker To Defect ––Nwaobi

BY ANDREW IKEHI

THE People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Caucus in the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) has refuted an online media report alleging that 10 members of the PDP in the House are already warming up to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Raising concerns over the fake report, during yesterday’s plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi said that all 22 PDP members in the House are irrevocably committed to the ideals of the party, stressing that their loyalty to the party is unparalled.

Hon. Nwaobi, however posited that on the contrary, five out of the Seven APC members in the House are already indicating interest to join the PDP, adding that their defection is on course.

While describing the report as false and baseless, the Majority Leader further described the report which he noted was the handiwork of one of the APC in the state, said it is a figment of the author’s imagination aimed at heating the polity.

Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor enjoined Deltans, particularly the PDP faithful in the state to discountenance the report, saying that they are fully loyal to the party’s ideals.

He said, “there is no doubt that the 22 members of the PDP in the State House of Assembly are intact.

There is no indication anywhere that any member of the party is planning to join any other party. “Rather, there is strong indication that members of the APC in the House are already warming up to join the PDP.

“And, let me use this medium to inform them that the Umbrella is wide enough to accommodate as many as are interested in joining the PDP”
