No Promotion Interviews Without Refresher Courses -DTSG

THE Delta State Civil Service Commission has indeed emphasized the importance of refresher courses for officers due for promotional exams. This require­ment is part of their efforts to ensure merit-based appoint­ments and promotions within the civil service.

Submission of Promotional Examination Report for Officers on Salary Grade 05 -10, 2025 by the team of Consultants alongside Oral Interview at the Commission’s premises in Asaba.

Addressing officers shortly after the submission of the promotional examination report by the team of consul­tants, led by the former Head of Service (HoS), Sir. Okey Ofili and others, the CSC boss congratulated officers present for the oral interview, urging them to believe in themselves.

“We are here for the oral interview; I want to believe that everyone here attended the refreshers course. If you didn’t attend, we would not interview you because a lot of you take the promotional exams for granted. I must ap­plaud those who are properly dressed and also address the issue of lateness to work.

“We are familiar with ourselves, so do not be afraid, because there is nothing we will ask you that is outside what you know if you have been in the service and you are working in your offices as supposed. There is no question that you cannot answer. So, please just prepare your mind to answer each question and do not go overboard.

“Sincerely, I must commend our team of consultants for doing a clean and well-detailed report. With what they have presented to me, we will look into it properly and mmeritoriouslyselect those who scaled through according to our cut-off mark”, she expounded.

Earlier, the team of consultants made up of Sir.Okey Ofili, Sir. Paul Evaurherhe and Sir. Emmanuel Okafor expressed their gratitude to the CSC chairman and members of the commission, taking time out of their busy schedules and giving them the floor.

Ofili, in his submission, commended the commission for conducting a transparent promotional examination void of malpractice. “We had a total number of 296 officers who sat for the exams as those who scored below 40 per cent were unsatisfactory. We observed a significant improve­ment in our officer’s compliance with exam questions.

“Even though a greater problem is that most officers are unable to provide the required information in filling their forms. So we further suggest that officers should be properly educated and well-guided on what to do at times.
