…Says Oborevwori Saving Lives Through DESTMA

THE Chairman, Delta State Traffic Management Authority (DESTMA), Chief Peter Idion has declared that there is no vacancy in Delta State Government House come 2027.
Chief Idion who disclosed this during the official tours of DESTMA Zonal Commands in the state during the week, noted that the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori was doing exceedingly well in various sectors of the state economy, including saving of lives through DESTMA.
He pointed out that Oborevwori’s administration is seriously committed to safety of lives and property in the state, adding that he was quite convinced that the Governor will certainly get the mandate of all well-meaning Deltans to remain in office till 2031.
The Chairman, Director General, Directors and Members of the reconstituted DESTMA Board were in Agbor, Sapele, Warri and Ughelli where they sensitized staff of the agency on the need to discharge their duties effectively as the state government under the leadership of Governor Oborevwori was very prepared to better their welfare.
Idion said that the safety of the lives of Deltans was very important to the state governor, hence, his administration was paying priority attention to DESTMA, the agency charged with the responsibility of sensitizing and enforcing traffic rules and regulations on Delta roads.
While addressing staff of the agency in Agbor, Sapele, Warri and Ughelli, Chief Idion urged them to carry out their duties diligently, responsibly and in accordance with the rules and regulations of DESTMA.
The DESTMA Chairman frowned at the unhealthy attitude of some staff of the agency and warned against any negative act capable of tarnishing the image of the agency.
He added that the newly constituted DESTMA Board has zero tolerance for indiscipline, corruption and absenteeism, declaring that any staff found indulging in the aforementioned acts will be penalized.
Chief ldion, therefore, called on all Deltans to support DESTMA in the sensitization campaign for total safety on Delta roads, even as he announced that there will be no sacred cow in the punishment of traffic offenders.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for creating the enabling environment for DESTMA to thrive in her sensitization campaigns to different parts of the state, just as he, also, appreciated the governor for his people-oriented programmes aimed at saving lives and moving the state forward.
He used the opportunity to urge Deltans to double their supports for Governor Oborevwori so as to enable him achieve more democratic dividends for the overall benefit of all Deltans and residents in the state.
