Non Issuance Of NIN Worriesome ––Trad. Rulers Council

THE Delta State Traditional Rulers Council has expressed deep concern over the delay in the reg­istration and issuance of the permanent National Identity cards to Deltans.

The Chairman of the Council and Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Major – General Felix Mujakpuero (Rtd) Orhue 1 made the remark in a four-point communique at the end of the meeting of the monarchs in Asaba.

The Delta Monarchs urged the management of NIMC in Delta State to expedite action on the registration process to enable Deltans get the permanent national identity cards.

The Council commended Governor Sheriff Oborev­wori for the successful hosting of the 13th Extra – ordi­nary General Assembly of the South -South Monarch’s Forum in Asaba and prayed God to strengthen and protect the Governor for all his efforts towards moving the State forward.

The Council also congratulated Governor Oborevwori on his 61st birthday anniversary and asked God to continue to bless, protect and give the Governor more wisdom as he pilots the affairs of the state.

Meanwhile, the leadership and members of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council have paid a visit to the wife and members of the Royal family of the late Asagba of Asaba and former Chairman of the Council, Obi Professor Chike Edozien .

At the Ceremony, the Orodje of Okpe extolled the lead­ership and inspirational attributes of the late Asagba.

He enjoined the wife of the late monarch and the family to take solace in the fact the deceased lived a life worthy of commendation and left indelible footprints in the sands of time.

In his remarks, the 1st vice Chairman of the Council and Pere of Akugbene Mien, Luke SP Kalanama V111 said the late monarch played a major role in the agita­tion for constitutional roles for Traditional Rulers before his demise.

Responding on behalf of the family, one of the sons of the late Asagba, Engineer Louis Edozien thanked the Traditional Rulers for the visit, saying the burial rites of the monarch will end on the 28th of this month.

The visit was attended by Traditional Rulers from across the state including the immediate past Chair­man of the council and Obi of OWA, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11.
