The celebration was also an opportunity for the old boys to call on the federal government to reopen teacher training colleges, which they believe have been closed for too long. They argued that the closure of these colleges has done more harm than good to the nation’s education system.
As the celebration drew to a close, the old boys were treated to some good news. The Local Government Secretary dropped the hint that the Afor Market at Isssele- Uku is being reconstructed by the Emmanuel Bazim Chinye led administration to meet modern-day standards, complete with state-of-the-art facilities.
He assured that the original occupants of stalls in the old market would be given utmost priority, before new entrants.
