A former Chairman of Obodogwugwu and Ogbeowelle youth in Okpanam community, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State and the Enyi-Oha 1 of Isiahaba autonomous community, Isialangwa Local Government Area of Abia State, Comr. (Chief) Uzor Nwabuoku has reiterated his determination to ensure the growth and development of Ogbeowelle family.
Chief Nwabuoku stated this in his Ogbeowelle country home, while fielding questions from journalists on sundry issues in Ogbeowelle community.
He urged the people, especially those who he said they were unnecessarily aggrieved to support the leadership of Comr. (Deacon) John Ogbogu Interim leadership of Ogbeowelle youth, adding that the Diokpa-Isi and other Diokpas and the entire community had spoken.
Chief Nwabuoku said that the Ogbeoeowele youth executive was dissolved by the entire community because their tenure had expired since June 2024 and without any sentiments and commended Comr. Maxwell Ezechie-led executive for their contributions towards the upliftment of the community.
He recalled that Hon. Jeffrey Mordi brought into the limelight of Ogbeowelle youth leadership in the same manner, recalling that there was a time in the history of Ogbeowelle community when the late Diokpa Herbert Nwabuoku dissolved the then youth EXCO even without holding any former meeting and appointed Hon. Jeffrey Sunday Mordi and Comr. Monday Ezechie as the chairman and vice chairman, respectively.
He also explained that when his tenure elapsed as the chairman of Obodogwugwu youth, some elders went to the Ugoani’s palace and took resolution that his administration has been dissolved, emphasizing that even before they took the matter to the traditional ruler, he had already relinquished power knowing that actually their tenure had expired.
He said that after the dissolution of Obodogwugwu youth under his leadership, Comr. Uche Nwanze and Hon. (Comr.) Jeffrey Mordi were made as chairman and vice chairman, respectively.
Also speaking, Diokpa Stephen Nwokolie Iwediuno and Diokpa Nwabuoku described what he claimed as opinions of few persons challenging the decision of the Diokpa-Isi and other elders of Ogbeowelle family as baseless and uncalled for, reminding them that there was need to embrace peace for the betterment of Ogbeowelle and Okpanam community in general.
Commercial Drivers Turn Warri-Effurun Expressway To Park

SOME concern road users have condemned the way some unpatriotic commercial bus drivers have turned the ever busy NPA Warri/ Effurun Express Way by the Fly Over EkpanUvwie Local Government Area to illegal park.
The Pointer reports that these commercial drivers were seen on long queues waiting for their turn to transport passengers to Warri South Local Government on regular basis even at night.
The concerned road users, who cpmmented on it, expressed displeasure over the ugly development. One of them, Suleman Momoh, a private car owner, who works in the neighbouring Refinery Ekpan, accused the commercial bus drivers of constituting nuissance to other road users with their operations.
Also, Madam Clara Oritsejolomi, who resides in the Chaleysco Area of the high way expressed the same opinio, saying that the constant plying of heavy duty oil tankers on the said road makes the operation of the commercial bus drivers and their commercial tricycle (keke) riders counterparts more dangerous.
Both respondents then called on the relevant authorities to prohibit the illegal park and also the operations of keke riders on the NPA Warri/Effurun Express Way.
It would be recalled that the immediate past chairman ofUvwie Local Government, Chief Hon Ramson Onoyake placed a ban on parking of Kpelegbe and keke on the said area.
It would also be recalled that former governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has placed a ban on the operations of keke and okada riders on highways in Delta State.
Monarch Donates Bus To Youth Group To Aid Fight Against Crime

AS part of efforts to curb criminality in Mosogar, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, the Ovie of Mosogar kingdom, HRM, Sunday Okpurhe, has donated a Sienna bus to the youths to aid crime prevention.
While handing over the vehicle to the youths at his palace in Mosogar, the traditional ruler noted that getting a vehicle for the youth body became paramount as the youths needed mobility to help aid their job while working in collaboration with the security agencies in fighting crime and insecurity in the area.
He urged the youths to make use of the vehicle for the purpose it was donated, ensuring crime is brought to the barest minimum in the locality.
The Ethiope West Council Chairman, Hon. Christian Onogba, who was also present at the palace, commended the monarch for his love and passion towards the growth and progress of the Mosogar kingdom.
The Ugo of Mosogar Kingdom, Chief Freeborn Nana, also appreciated the royal father for always putting the interest of the kingdom first in every area.
He promised the king that the ‘Oguedion’ Council of Chiefs and Elders will continue to give the full support needed for the smooth and peaceful reign of the King.
Highlight of the event was the official handing over of the vehicle to the youth body through the Youth President, Comr. Oki Ebeigbe.

Ogedegbe Warns Against Illegal Dredging

THE Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government, Hon. Augustine Ogedegbe held a crucial meeting with dredging site operators from Okuidjerhe comunity to engage them on how to legalise their operations and put a stop to illegal dredging activities in the area.
The meeting, which was held at the council secretariat in Isiokolo, was called to regulate the activities of dredgers who operate close to residential areas.
He warned that it was against the law to carry out dredging activities close to residential areas, and his administration has zero tolerance for illegal dredging activities that will endanger residents in Ethiope East.
Ogedegbe promised to personally visit all dredging sites to ensure that the laws put in place by the Delta State Government, through the Ministry of Environment, were strictly adhered to.
“We cannot allow dredging activities to endanger the lives and peace of our people. This government is committed to protecting both the environment and our communities,” he stated.
Ogedegbe further encouraged the dredgers to cooperate with the council by adhering to all environmental guidelines and regulations. He assured them that while the council is open to supporting legitimate businesses, it would not tolerate practices that jeopardize the safety of the community.
