Nwoko’s Exit Has No Impact As Deltans Are Enjoying Oborevwori’s More Agenda -Onwusanya jnr

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has drawn media attention recently, positively and negatively.

Firstly, positively the state governor, RT Hon Sheriff Oborevwori received Arise Television and This Day Governor of the year Award and was conferred with a Doctorate degree honourary Causa from Novena University Ogume, Delta State, within one week.

Then negatively , the ( PDP) Senator representing Delta North in the upper chamber, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko decamped to All Progressive Congress (APC ). These have received mixed reactions from the public domain.

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation, Peter Onwusanya jnr has asserted that the exit of Senator Ned Nwoko from the party has no impact on the prospects of the PDP in 2027, contending that Deltans were enjoying the benefits of the MORE Agenda.

Onwusanya jnr, who spoke to the press during the Delta North leaders and stakeholders meeting at Government House, Asaba, shared the opinion that the exit had no impact knowing fully well that he is a serial decampee.

He posited that Deltans, particularly the good people of Delta North, were enjoying the
dividends of democracy being distributed by the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, through his M.O.R.E Agenda as he had turned the three Senatorial districts into construction sites.

“For politicians and non politicians alike, the fact is that this state is a PDP state., So come 2027 Our people will vote for the party PDP.

“To the best of my knowledge, the ruling party through the instrumentality of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is constructing several economic roads and people-oriented projects all over the state.
“This year 2025 the governor has approved the sum of N2.1 billion for each of the 25 local government areas in the State for the construction of rural or internal roads. The Independent Power Project has been completed at Owa-Oyibu to serve the University of Delta campuses, medical facilities and the neighbouring communities, he said.

He added that over 150 health institutions were undergoing renovations and upgrading, while the state has four functional State universities, housing, agriculture, trade and investment and continuous humanitarian guestures abound.

According to him, students of Delta origin at the various higher institutions were being paid Bursary on time, just as security and peace are outstanding in the state, attracting several national programmes, conferences and events.

The politician recalled that recently, the Governor disbursed financial grants to 2,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, (MSMEs) in the state to grow their businesses and cushion the effects of the inclement economic realities in the country through the MORE Business Upscale Programme just as over 97,000 beneficiaries were empowered through the D-CARE programme.

“So, with all of the above and more, you can see that the Governor and good people of Delta State are not perturbed about Ned Nwoko’s exit” he concluded.
