Obi Of Aboh, OPUTA 111 Thanks DTSG For Official Confirmation

The Obi of Aboh Kingdom, Obi , Dr Greg Oputa 111 has commended the Delta State Government for his official confirmation as the traditional ruler of the kingdom.

Obi Dr Greg Oputa 111 gave the commendation while reacting to the outcome of the Delta State Executive Council Meeting, which was presided over by the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

The Aboh monarch said that the approval of his emergence as King of Aboh by the Delta State Government was not only a mark of recognition but a re-affirmation of the implicit confidence reposed on him by the entire peace-loving people of Aboh kingdom, which he would not take for granted.

He specifically expressed immense gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme for graciously granting the approval, saying that it was not only timely but also a strong indication that his reign would usher in an unprecedented peace, growth and development in the kingdom.

The 20th Obi of Aboh kingdom particularly described government’s approval of his kingship as a great honour and urged the people to reciprocate government’s kind gesture by rallying round him for the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the kingdom.

While reflecting on the premier position of Aboh Kingdom as a foremost coastal community that had early encounter with the Europeans as exemplified by the Lander brothers voyage in the kingdom, Obi Dr Greg Oputa 111 said the kingdom was in haste to catch up with the ongoing pace of development across the State.

He, therefore, urged the people to close ranks and put necessary machinery in motion for the overall transformation of the kingdom.

The Obi pledged the total loyalty and support of the kingdom to the state government and admonished the people to continue to support government policies and programmes .

He called for unity and cooperation of the people in moving the kingdom forward, adding that they should always endeavor to speak with one voice on issues of common interest to them.
