Obidients Regroup To Wrest Power From APC

BY CHRISTY ABOGHE

AS the 2027 general elections approach, the Obidient Movement is regrouping to reclaim power and rescue Nigeria from what they describe as the mismanagement and maladministration of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

To this end, stakeholders of the Obidient Movement, along with supporters of Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), gathered in Asaba, the Delta State capital, for the 2024 Obidient Movement Conference.

At the event organized by the Delta Obidient Elders’ Council, the keynote speaker, Prof Chris Nwaokobia assured members of the movement of the recovery of their mandate by the present ruling party.

In line with the theme “reawakening and harmonising the Obidient Movement for a New Nigeria’’ he urged them not to be discouraged but to strategize ahead of the next election, adding that with one voice, the emergence of a new Nigeria will be a reality in 2027.

He claimed that the APC government is wallowing in utter confusion, lack of vision, and mediocrity. ‘’However, the Obidients should be hopeful of a New Nigeria, that would transform the country from consumption to production’’.

Nwaokobia urged the Obidients to be courageous and go out to recruit other Nigerians who are devastated by the current economic hardship, just as he encouraged them to have hope for the future.

Earlier, the Chairman of Delta OBIdient Elders Council, Chief Chris Biose commended all the Obidients for the heroic role they played during the last general elections. He noted that it was so wonderful that other political parties could not believe their eyes when the Obidients garnered over 10 million votes for Mr Peter Obi within a few months of the campaign.
