THE Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the Secretary to the Government of Edo State (SSG), Mr Osarodion Ogie, former Head of Service, Sir Paul Evuarherhe and other personalities have described the late Chief Patrick Onyeobi, the Iyase of Asaba as a man of exemplary leadership, an excellent administrator and a reverred community leader with humble character.
Governor Oborevwori, represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, at the celebration of the life and tributes of late Chief Onyeobi, held in Asaba, noted that his demise was a great loss to the immediate family, and the Delta State government, who would miss his wisdom.
According to Oborevwori, “I convey my deepest condolence to you and your family on the demised of our great father, Obi Patrick Isioma Onyeobi, the Iyase of Asaba and Diokpa of Idumuojei Village.
“Although we mourn his death, I urge you to be comforted by the life of impact and significance that he lived. He lived as an exceptional public servant, an excellent administrator, a reverend community leader and a man of humble character.
“He was a model of simplicity, commitment and loyalty, an iconic figure in the Asaba rich traditional culture. He will fondly be remembered for his disposition towards exemplary leadership and peace-loving nature.
“For him, no price was too high to pay for his people and peace. As a government, we will miss his wisdom,” Oborevwori said. He urged the children to emulate the character and godly disposition of their late father.
The SSG, Edo State, Mr Osarodion Ogie, represented by the Edo State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon Osilama Okuofu said the late Obi Onyeobi played a fatherly role in his upbringing.
He said the late Obi Patrick Isioma Onyeobi, a former Head of Service and later Secretary to the Government of defunct Bendel State, used his position to attract development to the public service.
