Oborevwori Has Zero-Tolerance For Sub-Standard Projects ––Etacherure

Delta State Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Ejiro Etacherure has reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori‘s administration to ensuring that sub-standard projects have no place in the state.

He made this clear during a visit to the site of the tragic building collapse at Eghereka Primary School in Ewu Town, Ughelli South Local Government Area, where a young pupil, Salvation Ojiyovwin, lost his life, and three other students sustained injuries.

The delegation included Etacherure Ejiro; the Chairman of the State Taskforce on Environment, Chief Godspower Asiuwhu, and the Director of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mr Karo Ovemeso. They visited the scene to assess the damages and ensure steps were taken to prevent future occurrences.

Etacherure extended the governor’s condolences to the victims and their families, emphasizing the administration’s concern for all Deltans, regardless of their tribe or location.

At the hospital, where the injured pupils were receiving treatment, the commissioner offered financial assistance to support their recovery and prayed for their quick healing.

Following this, the team visited the grieving family of the deceased pupil, Ojiyovwin Salvation where Etacherure described the incident as deeply regrettable and expressed the Governor’s determination to ascertain the cause of the collapse to prevent similar tragedies in future.

He prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family, the school, and the entire community during this painful period.

The visit highlighted the state government’s zero-tolerance stance on sub-standard projects and its resolve to safeguard the welfare of its citizens.
