…Refutes Gov’s Defection Rumors

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has strongly refuted rumors circulating on social media suggesting that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was planning to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In an official statement released, yesterday, the state PDP Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka dismissed the reports as malicious and baseless.
According to the PDP leadership, the speculation was a deliberate attempt by political mischief-makers to destabilize the party and create division within its ranks.
The statement further described those spreading the rumors as “jobless political hirelings” and faceless individuals with ulterior motives, and calling them impostors and “failed agents of destabilization and treachery”.
The PDP also condemned the actions of a key individual, who it accused of being a notorious serial blackmailer and a dishonest character, concocting lies as a means of survival.
This individual, the statement noted, has been spreading false information in a bid to undermine the party and its leadership.
The party’s leadership reassured the public that Governor Oborevwori will remain focused on delivering good governance through his M.O.R.E. Agenda, exemplified by the massive social infrastructure development and human capital growth across the state.
