The Igbodo Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State is set to host the 2024 annual Ogwa Ika gathering on August 17 2024.
The annual event usually organized by the Onu Ika Group (the mouthpieces of Ika ethnic nationality) would be grace by guests, friends, sons and daughters of the Ika nation, both at home and in the diaspora.
In a press statement, the General Secretary of the group, Maj-Gen Ephraim Usiade (Rtd), who spoke on behalf of the Head of Onu Ika Group said the ceremony would commence by 10 am at the Igbodo Civic Center in Igbodo.
According to him, the discussion on this year’s event would focus on insecurity and other challenges facing the people of the Ika nation and suggest ways of improving the lives of the Ika people.
Speaking further, Maj-Gen Usiade said that the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori would be invited as the Special Guest of honour of the ceremony, adding that the event would also feature the 20th edition of the Ika Ka Mma annual lecture series.
He added that the Obi of Igbodo Kingdom, HRM Ikechukwu Nkeobikwu would be the Chief Host and royal father of the ceremony.
