Oborevwori Urges Clerics To Pray For State, Nation

DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on religious ministers to pray fervently and ceaselessly for continued peace and development of the state and the nation.

He made the call at the 49th birthday anniversary and 27th year of calling of the General Overseer and Archbishop of Promise Kingdom Ministry, PKM – Overflow Chapel, Okuovwori – Amukpe, Sapele, His Royal Eminence, Most Rev Iboyi Godday.

The Governor, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Hon Prince Johnson Erijo, noted that the grace of God was sufficient in the state, which had accounted for the modest achievements so far recorded by his administration.

He said just as he was working tirelessly to better the lot of the state and its people, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was also doing his best to address the challenges of the nation, stressing that they needed the prayers of Deltans and Nigerians to succeed and make life more meaningful for the people. Governor Oborevwori promised to remain a good ambassador of Okpe kingdom and the entire Urhobo nation, even as he reiterated that he was elected to serve all Deltans, irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliations.

The Governor congratulated His Royal Eminence, Most Rev Iboyi Godday, on his birthday anniversary and impactful 27 years of grace on the pulpit, expressing delight that at 49 he had grown strong in the Lord’s vineyard, as well as touched many lives, with lots of testimonies to show.

He thanked God for saving the life of the young Archbishop, who was recently involved in a ghastly accident, and wished him many more years of service to God and humanity.

The Guest Preacher and Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Delta State chapter, Bishop Abos Willie, congratulated the celebrant, whom he said his call to serve the Lord was filled with purpose and love for the people of Delta State.

Bishop Willie said by his calling, the celebrant had been positioned to bring righteousness to the people of Okpe and prayed that he continued to use his ministry to further win souls for God and impact on the people and the state.

In his remarks, the celebrant, His Royal Eminence, Most Rev Iboyi Godday, thanked all who came to honor and celebrate him and testified that his life was spared to continue to bring God’s word to his people and the state.

The member representing the Okpe Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon James Augoye, the Orodje of Okpe kingdom and Chairman, Delta State Traditional Rulers’ Council, His Royal Majesty, Gen Felix Mujakperuo, rtd, were among dignitaries who attended the thanksgiving service.
