THE Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on corps members serving in the state to prioritise community development and uphold the values of unity and nation-building.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2024 Batch C Stream 1 corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Issele- Uku, headquarters of Aniocha North Local Government Area, the Governor, represented by Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. ThankGod Trakiriowei, congratulated the newly inducted members and urged them to make meaningful contributions to Delta State’s growth.
The Governor highlighted the vital role of youth in fostering social cohesion and driving progress, encouraging the Corps members to actively engage with their host communities. He also emphasised the importance of service as a cornerstone of nation-building.
In response, the State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. John Vandi T. Kwaghe, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his steadfast support of NYSC activities.
Kwaghe noted that since the registration began on November 27, 2024, a total of 1,464 prospective Corps Members, including 682 males and 782 females, have been officially registered.
