THE Senior Special Assistant (SSA), to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Abraham Odjighoro has again rolled out the second phace of the Grassroots Empowerment Initiative to the people of Kokori Community, Ethiope East LGA, Delta State who were carefully selected from each of the polling units of ward 6.
The grassroots empowerment initiative which was targeted to uplift and enhance the M.O.R.E agenda of Delta State Government in Ethiope East LGA, took place at the residence of Chief Abraham Odjighoro in Kokori Community, with many PDP faithful members in attendance.
The empowerment, which was in cash of N100,000, each to 10 beneficiaries was to cushion the effects of the current Economic challenges in the country.
However, before commencing the empowerment, one of the beneficiaries of the first phace of the gesture, Bethel Ese gave thanks to Chief Odjighoro for the initiative, adding that she has made proper use of the empowerment to enhance her business, and called on the beneficiaries to ensure they put the empowerment in proper used.
In his opening speech, Chief Odjighoro said, “We are gathered here today for the second Phase of the grassroots empowerment initiative. Three months ago was the first of 10 persons and today is another phase of 10 persons.” He added, “l am doing this to contribute to the M.O.R.E agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in Ethiope East LGA”.
On their part, the PDP Chairmanship candidate for the July 13, 2024 local government elections, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, the PDP leader Ethiope East, Chief Bernard Edewor, PDP chairman ward 6 Kokori, Chief Felix Oniakukor, PDP leader Egbo ward Kokori, Dr Benson Edoja, who spoke in the same vein commended Chief Odjighoro for the kind gesture, and appealed to the beneficiaries to ensurethey put it into proper use.
They also urged other political appointees in Kokori community to emulate Chief Odjighoro for the growth of PDP in Kokoriand Ethiope East.
Some of the beneficiaries, Chief Albert Akpomudje, Mrs. Florence Agofure, who spoke on behalf of others, hailed Chief Odjighoro for the gesture, assuring that they will make good use of the empowerment.
In a chat with newsmen after the programme. Chief Odjighoro posited that, the grassroots empowerment initiative was inspired by him so as to enhance the M.O.R.E agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in Kokori and to empower the people to be financially and socially stabilized.
