Adigwe, a retired Microfinance Banker, flanked by ODAs’ first Vice President, Mr. John Nwaekete and other members of the executive, gave the commendation in Ogwashi-Uku during a training and routine empowerment programme organized by SMEDAN.
They thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for looking to the plight of the people and acting accordingly, assuring the Presidency and the SMEDAN authorities that they would judiciously utilize the resources given to them to impact others
“We thank the staff of SMEDAN, we thank the DG, Mr. Charles Odii who has lectured us, who has shown great enthusiasm and we hope he grows higher because he has the strength”, the ODA Secretary said.
Earlier, the Director General of SMEDAN, Mr. Charles Odii, told the participants that the Federal Government had adopted a different approach to rid the system of corruption, pointing out that the intension was not just to give out money, but also to foster productivity, engage the beneficiaries through training and retraining, analyze feedbacks and recommend a way through challenges as the beneficiaries progressed.
Mr. Odii assured the people, especially small business owners that the dawn of good things had just begun as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had graciously approved the sum of N50bn for nano businesses employing less than 3 staff with an annual turnover of N3m.
He explained that the expectation was that at the designed pace of the programme, countless millionaires would have been raised, likening what they were given at the training programme as a Bible for their businesses, called Business Model Canvas.
Speaking in one voice, the beneficiaries thanked the Presidency for the programme promising to act accordingly with the grant and training, and to mentor others.
