Odogwu-Abi Commends Peaceful Ikenge Festival In Utagba Ogbe

THE Odogwu-Abi (Traditional Prime Minister) of Utagba Ogbe kingdom, Kwale, headquarters of Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Chief Augustine Akom has commended indigenes of the community for a peaceful celebration of the 2024 Ikenge festival, noting the absence of security threats or injuries.

While thanking the organizers and traditional Chiefs for a successful event, the Odogwu-Abi emphasised the festival’s significance in honouring their gods and ancestors and praying for a prosperous new farming season.

Chief Akom further applauded indigenes for their massive participation in traditional festivals, urging them to continue promoting their culture and attracting government attention to harness tourism potential.

Meanwhile, arising from a recent meeting hosted by the Odogwu-Abi at his residence, the Utagba Ogbe Leaders represented by the various community chiefs, resolved to reconnect the kingdom to the national electrification grid and pursue development projects.
