…As NURTW In Aniocha North Endorses PDP
THE National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Branch B, Aniocha North Local Government Area, has shown support for the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) on whose platform Hon. Bazim Chinye is vying for the Chairmanship position.
Speaking to The Pointer during the PDP rally in Issele-Uku, the Chairman, Prince Francis Obi said that the union is ever ready to partner with the incoming administration and would continue to support the party as long as Hon. Chinye emerges winner in the forthcoming election.
While praising Hon. Emma Chinye as a politician who cares for the people, Prince Obi endorsed his GAIN agenda for inclusive governance urging the incoming administration to involve the union in improving the transport system in the council area.
In his words: “The local government is still very fertile and presents a lucrative opportunity for investors. While the union is poised to expand its reach to address transportation challenges in the area, there is the need for additional motor parks and the state government has to rehabilitate critical roads, including the Old Lagos road connecting Otulu Community through Issele-Azagba and other vital routes within the council area to enhance connectivity,” he said.
Obi further stressed that improving the transportation system in the area would boost the internally generated revenue and provide better access to communities that are currently inaccessible by vehicles noting that it is crucial for the government to create an enabling environment for everyone to thrive in the council area.
