Ogulagha Elders Synod Condoles Family Of Late Chief E.K. Clark

THE Elders Synod of Ogulagha Community has extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Chief Dr. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, a revered statesman and leader of the Ijaw Nation. In a solemn tribute, the Elders Synod recognized Chief Clark’s immense contributions to the Niger Delta and Nigeria, describing his passing as an irreplaceable loss.

A press statement signed by Elder Fred Ingla, Chairman of the Ogulagha Elders Synod; Elder Commission Okoruwei, Vice Chairman; and Elder Calabar Someboy, Secretary, highlighted Chief Clark’s lifelong dedication to justice, equity, and the development of the Niger Delta region. They described him as a pillar of strength and a champion of the people’s struggle.

Leading the condolence message, Elder Fred Ingla praised the late Chief Clark for his unwavering commitment to the upliftment of the Niger Delta, emphasizing that his legacy would remain indelible in the region’s history.

“Chief Clark was a fountain of wisdom, a fearless advocate, and a leader whose voice echoed the aspirations of our people. His passing is not just a loss to the Ijaw Nation but to the entire Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole,” he stated.

Elder Commission Okoruwei, Vice Chairman of the Ogulagha Elders Synod, and Elder Calabar Someboy, Secretary, also paid glowing tribute, acknowledging Chief Clark’s resolute stance on Niger Delta development, unity, and peace.

“Chief E.K. Clark was a father to the oppressed, a warrior in the struggle for justice, and a voice that could not be silenced. His advocacy for the Niger Delta, even in the face of challenges, earned him the respect of all,” Elder Someboy noted.

In a moment of solemn reflection, Rev. James Yelemi offered prayers for the soul of the departed elder statesman, emphasizing that his righteous fight for equity would continue to inspire future generations. He called on the Ijaw people and the entire Niger Delta to uphold the principles of unity, peace, and progress that Chief Clark championed throughout his lifetime.

Chief Council Guwor, Patron of the Elders Synod, eulogized Chief Clark as a foundational pillar upon which the Niger Delta struggle was built. He acknowledged the late leader’s wisdom, courage, and unwavering patriotism, which set a high standard for leadership and governance in the region.

Chief Guwor urged the Federal Government, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and other relevant stakeholders to honour Chief Clark’s legacy by accelerating the development of the Niger Delta. He called for the completion of unfinished projects, the empowerment of indigenous communities, and a renewed commitment to environmental protection and economic stability in the region.

Reflecting on the life and legacy of the late Pa Clark, Chief Guwor emphasized that his achievements should inspire the younger generation to continue the fight for justice, fairness, and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
